01
Context & research
University UX Design Module. The objective was to design a training app that would help Barley Hall volunteers become confident room guides.
Affinity mapping of survey responses showed that users wanted information-rich resources alongside quizzes that reinforced their learning.
02
UX & interface design
A persona and user journey highlighted issues such as tracking partially completed modules and navigating complex menus.
The design introduced multiple-choice quizzes with immediate feedback and an interactive room feature where users could select furnishings to reveal information.
03
Accessibility
The concept included contrast controls, text-to-speech and adjustable text sizes.
Progress indicators, error-prevention dialogs and bookmarking were added to help volunteers avoid losing their place or progress.
