Project Overview & Strategy
INCORPORATE SOLUTIONS is a game which illustrates how corporate environments cause stress to their employees.
Won 'Best Overall Project' at the University of York's Creative Technologies Showcase.
Project Management: As the solo-developer, to ensure the project stayed on schedule, I used a Gantt chart to map out my tasks on a week-by-week basis.
Technical Implementation
- Intuitive Minigames: Designed "drag and drop" minigames to ensure the mechanics were simple enough for users to understand.
- Cutscene System: Created a custom narrative system using a ScriptableObject which held all data for cutscenes.
- Visual Storytelling: The games utilises changing ambient lighting and glitch effects to visually represent the characters' mental deterioration.
User Research & Data Analysis
- User Testing: Designed and conducted formal user testing within university ethical guidelines.
- Quantitative & Qualitative Analysis: Collected data users, using a mix of long and short form questions to evaluate the game.
- Feedback: Participants consistently identified the intended critiques, such as exploitative leadership and the impacts of a stressful environment.
